I LOVE me some Saved By The Bell. And due to me being born after the show was aired, I've been catching up with episodes on Youtube, and there's an episode (*which I haven't seen yet*) where Lisa&Zack *two of the main characters* kiss.
Yeah, so they kiss, mmm'kay. The relevance of this is? you say.
Well, Zack was white&blond haired and Lisa was black with curly hair.
You may not think its anything that would evoke any drama, apart from these characters who were meant to be best friends were kissing; so in context to the show, yes, OHHMYDAYS ZACK&LISA KISSED!
But in television, and for the show, this was quite a big move.
TV didn't have a lot of interracial couples and this kiss was significant in that it opened ideas of interracial couples to young people.
Even if it was only for one episode.

Watching the show, I wondered why Lisa didn't, like her other best girlfriends in the show, have a guy; Kelly had Zack (and Screech for one episode and also her pick from Slater&Zack who fought for her affections) and Jessie had Slater (and that kiss with Zack).
(And no, Screech's obsessive affection did not count).
 
Lots of viewers noticed "Lisa&Zack" 's onscreen chemistry. Episode's such as Lisa's 16th birthday where Zack gave Lisa that lingering cheek kiss made the sexual tension noticeable. And when Zack was in hospital for his knee and was comforted by his "Nurse"...yep, Lisa. Even Slater&Lisa went on a date in a Malibu Sands episode.

Lots of viewers were mad that the "Lisa&Zack" storyline wasn't picked up.
We can try and guess but I think it may be more than just the show's lack of continuity with some episodes...hmmmm...


Mmmm lemme feel them biceps baby...

I always thought Lisa was the prettiest SavedByTheBell Girl...
However, Lark&Mark (Lisa&Zack) did date in real life, for like, 3 years :D
Love, whether it's two people of the same race, or interracial, is BEAUTIFUL.
